When my buddy Paul and I started pod casting, we strived to up hold a specific standard in sound quality from the start. However, we are college students with standard paying jobs. After probing the internet for studio microphones, Paul discovered one that was good and we could afford. Our set up is the Snowball from blue with a ringer shock mount and pop filter. The Snowball from Blue is reasonably priced piece of equipment; it puts out great sound quality as well as a modern sleek design.
